Actaea simplex 'Brunette' AGM

Actaea simplex 'Brunette' is a tall growing deciduous clump forming perennial with long,narrow bottle-brush-like perfumed flowers of pinky-white in late summer and early autumn. Extremely attractive deeply serrated dark purple foliage making this a striking plant. Approx. 150cm tall. Part-shade in humus-enriched soil or permanently moist soil in full sun.Ideal in the border or woodland area.  Attractive to insects.

The foliage looks attractive from spring onwards and is a good foil for other plants.  Paeonias look extremely good planted next to Actaeas.  Rich or pastel flowers can either compliment or contrast with the foliage.
