Helenium 'Sahin's Early Flowerer' Attracts butterflies & birds Deer resistant

Helenium 'Sahin's Early Flowerer' is a deciduous, hardy, clump-forming long flowering perennial that is attractive to butterflies & birds & is resistant to deer. The erect stems produce orange & yellow daisy-like flowers from early summer into autumn if planted in any reasonable moisture retentive soil in full sun. They won't flower if the soil is too dry. It is a long & prolific bloomer & the flowers have long petals that surround a prominent chocolate brown central disk that is covered with golden pollen that attracts butterflies. The flowers open orange-red then fade to orange-yellow as they mature. Good cut flower. They can grow in sheltered or more exposed positions & reach approx. 120 cm x 60 cm in 2-5 years so might need some support.
