Spirea japonica 'Firelight' is a superb shrub for the smaller garden. It is bushy and grows to approx. 1.2 m tall. Leaves open dull red to bronze, green in summer then reddish-purple in autumn with clusters of rosy-pink flowers in summer. Easily grown in any reasonable soil in sun/light shade. Well-drained soil. Good in containers, raised beds or sunny, drier border. Attractive to butterflies. Resistant to deer.
