Wisteria sinensis 'Amethyst' AGM is a hardy, deciduous climber producing flowers in late spring/early summer before the leaves open. Very fragrant flowers reddish-violet flowers with a yellow blotch inside. Velvety, green, bean-like seedpods. Leaves emerge deep bronze. Grows taller than 12 m & wider than 8 m. Shelter from cold winds. Any reasonable moist but well-drained soil in sun/part-shade.
