Wisteria brachybotrys 'Showa-beni' AGM
Wisteria brachybotrys 'Showa-beni' AGM is an anti-clockwise twining climber with leaves up to 35 cm long. Fragrant, lilac-pink flowers are carried in hanging sprays 10-15 cm long followed by bean-like seed pods which are velvety & up to 20 cm long. Grows up to 12 m & spreads wider than 8 m. Any reasonable moist but well-drained soil in sun/part-shade. Hardy but needs a sheltered position.
